Acrylic on Canvas Roll, 18" x 24"⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This piece was born as I was scrolling through social media and I saw a woman yelling. I saw a thought-provoking pose that reminded me of how #perspective is everything. Some will see a woman laying down on her back, others will see a woman standing yelling at the sky. The lines also don’t clarify her stance, it actually strengthens the viewers perspective. I want people to realize that perspective is indeed everything in situations. We can be confident in what we saw, heard or felt while someone can have experienced a completely different moment. This was made to reflect the idea of sexual harassment. To the man harassing a woman, he might see her being pleasured, but to an outsider, or the victim it can be full of a pain. So much pain that all she wants to do is shriek for help. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Ladies may this inspire you to have a voice to say "me too". To be sure that you are a heard and understood. It is our job to defend ourselves and make sure that our perspective isn’t ridiculed or subsided.
